Training & Handling
Kelley Lucia is
certified in TTEAM® practices for alpacas and llamas. TTEAM stands for Tellington Touch Every Animal Method, a training system developed by internationally known horse trainer Linda Tellington-Jones and refined for llamas and alpacas by Marty McGee Bennett. TTEAM is based on the premise that when an animal resists, it is because the animal is fearful, in pain or does not understand what it is being asked to do. In traditional training, animals often associate fear and/or pain with certain movements or stimulation; therefore developing resistances and problematic behavior. TTEAM is a non-forceful technique that allows anyone, regardless of ages, physical ability or experience to handle alpacas safely and effectively. Clinics are held periodically as well as individual training sessions.

| "I have worked with llamas and alpacas and taught animal handling skills for more than 20 years. I have had many wonderful students. Kelley Lucia is one of the most talented animal handlers I have ever worked with. She is not only a good handler but also a good teacher. Her dedication to the animals is evident with every move she makes. She is responsible and caring. It is obvious that she enjoys both her two-legged and four-legged clientele.” |

Breeding & Purchase Consultation
To achieve the ultimate in stature, vigor and fiber, it is essential to understand the intricacies of alpaca bloodlines and breeding. Individual purchase and breeding consultations include such issues as bloodline documentation, micron fiber counts, confirmation, show wins and production.
| “I just wanted to take this opportunity to tell you how much we appreciate your advice and guidance you have provided us during our start up. Just two years ago, we were unskilled, uneducated and unprepared to raise and enjoy alpacas. Since meeting you, we have learned what to look for in an animal. You have also guided us in great directions for breeding to get the very best quality cria possible. We have been fortunate enough to take the new alpacas born and purchased to shows and win ribbons. Many thanks . . .” |
